The wedding world has caught Gatsby fever, but what’s not to love about a Roaring 20s inspiration shoot? Lavish, luxurious and swanky would be the words to define this styled event inspired by the novel and film. Stonebridge Manor hosted and designed the shoot and Brinkerhoff Photography captured the details, which included a Rolls Royce, a decadent tablescape and even cigars!

We wanted to embrace the novel’s original intentions while having a framework of things that could be do-able for today’s bride! The only thing that could have made this shoot better would be having Leonardo DiCaprio himself. ~ Teagan Mercer, Stonebridge Manor

Pastel Spring Inspiration by Carmen Santorelli Photography

This pastel springtime inspiration shoot was designed for Easter, but I think the soft colors, lovely desserts and beautiful flowers would be perfect for a spring bridal shower or rustic wedding reception, too. Carmen Santorelli Photography and Mimosa Floral Design Studio made the concept come to life!

I think good design and inspiration always begins with one or two items that are near and dear to your heart. Once you have these, everything else falls into place and the result is a cohesive and very personal design. So, when Carmen and I began brainstorming for our “Springtime Shoot” I immediately thought of a gift from my parents. Handmade in Vermont by R. John Wright Dolls, this little spring chick with felt purple posies on its back has a permanent home on my bookcase in Brooklyn, but made the trek out to Pennsylvania for our shoot.

Spring time always reminds me of dyeing eggs with my mom. As kids we would gather around the kitchen table for hours and create wonderful, crazy dyed eggs. This time around I wanted to create an egg tree at the center of the table. To hang the eggs, they had to be emptied instead of hard boiled. A pin prick on each end and then blow the yoke into a dish. Best to invite a few friends over and make a party of it. We then dyed the eggs and for an special touch, dipped them in iridescent glitter.

From these two components, our Springtime Shoot came to life. We chose to shoot outdoors on a table created from old farmhouse doors. For the florals we used recycled vintage bottles and jars with seasonal spring blooms. Included in the arrangements are: ranunculus, tulips, camomile, and dutch purple hydrangea. ~ Lilli, Mimosa Floral Design

True Vintage Wedding Gown Inspiration by Jessica Abby Photography

This striking series of images from Jessica Abby Photography features her personal collection of vintage weddng dresses that she gathered over 6 months from friends and family. She worked alongside couture jeweler Olivia Marcheline to create these vintage styled images!

Once they represented excitement, happiness and love, and there’s no doubt they have been kept as a memento of a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Years, and in some cases decades later, they are haunting. While still in good condition, the thought of the ladies who once cherished these gowns makes me shudder. I kept thinking what happened to those ladies? Could the dresses be brought back to life and adapted to modern culture? Will the dress still represent the first owner? ~ Jessica

Beecher Hill House Wedding Inspiration by Atlas & Elia Photography

The theme for this styled shoot was “elegant autumn wedding,” inspired by the romantic interior of the Beecher Hill House in Peshastin, Washington. The styling of the tablescape, with deep crimson dahlias, dusty peach roses, fresh fruit, including pears and grapes, and mercury glass, took its cues from the lovely interior details of the formal dining room. Atlas & Elia Photography and a group of talented vendors put it all together!

We loved pairing the deep crimson, almost black colors with dusty peach and including fresh fruit, to remind the viewer of harvest and the bounty of this particular region of Washington state (in the heart of pear country). The details from this shoot could be used for an indoor or outdoor wedding, in early or late autumn. We also like the fact that the wedding party was multicultural, youthful and dressed traditionally yet modern… all the way through, even in the makeup and hair styling. ~ Atlas & Elia Photography

Hot Air Balloon and Desert Sunset Wedding Inspiration

When it comes to inspiration and imagination, it doesn’t get much better than hot air balloons! Talitha A. Tarro Photography, Arlissa Vaughn and other talented vendors put together this styled shoot featuring hot air balloons in Albuquerque and a romantic desert sunset. The gorgeous models, Anna and Raymond, are a real, in-love couple planning to get married this summer!

Using a color palette featuring some of the Pantone 2013 Color Trends – monaco blue, nectarine, African violet, and lemon zest – this themed inspirational photo shoot combines Southwest hues with the geometric and bright designs of a hot air balloon. The shoot is based on the hugely popular International Balloon Fiesta held annually in early October, which celebrates the adventurous life of travel yet is set in the homey cowboy city of Albuquerque. Custom designed and hand-pressed invitations and paper goods introduced the special events of the day.

The crisp fall day began with a colorful ceremony scene featuring trees dressed in their autumn best and a happy couple in informal attire of simple cotton, wool and leather with boots to boot! Many handmade details completed the wedding, from the bride’s bouquet of shimmering paper flowers to the crocheted cardigan and enameled copper earrings. A paper rose was specially created as a boutonniere for the groom, but ended up being worn on the hat since the leather vest proved impenetrable. For the ring exchange at this small wedding no ring bearers were needed, the clever wooden hot air balloon holders were both functional and decorative. Upon completing their nuptials, the couple escaped for an hour-long private birds-eye tour of the city via an 80-foot hot air balloon! A DIY “Love” sign made of cotton piping and yarn adorned the get-away basket.

An outdoor setting offering picturesque views of the city was an essential component of the theme. The Elena Gallegos picnic area met the task beautifully with its native New Mexico vegetation and views of both the Sandia Mountains and the Albuquerque skyline. A live artist was commissioned to paint the bridal couple’s portrait on-site, a unique and memorable touch to this artsy gathering. The party favors were also made by the artist – miniature masterpieces displayed on tiny easels. The fire pit, charcoal grill, picnic tables and hiking trails all came together to offer guests a casual and cozy reception. Drinks included beer from the local Chama River Brewing Company, hot cocoa and hot tea. Opting out of a cake due to the intimate size of the party, cupcakes with custom toppers and miniature brownies were the sweets. The day concluded with an absolutely stunning sunset and a few improv shots of the bride and groom goofing off with the light strands, resulting in some of the greatest shots of the day. ~ Arlissa

Love Day Valentine’s Wedding Inspiration by {Cat} Tetreault Photography

The Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse set the stage for this incredibly beautiful and creative Love Day styled shoot by {Cat} Tetreault Photography, Charming Decor Event Rentals & Design and a number of other talented vendors in British Columbia. The details are red hot mixed with a rustic vibe; the florals included pale pink anemones, white tulips, red pansies and lush ranunculus. To match the rustic red setting, they also had homemade lavender and lemongrass soaps tied with red twine and “love” ribbon tape. Plus, the models are a real couple with amazing chemistry!

This beautiful autumn styled shoot from Svetlana HillKovich has all the elements of a fairytale wedding! The peach orchard was an incredible, secluded area for the shoot – surrounded by trees in the midst of changing leaves and sunlight peeking through the branches.
